“Oops, we left Athens out in the rain. He got all wet.”
Small Bean replies, “Then God must have gotten all wet too.”
Umm… okay… so she thinks God lives outside. Very interesting.
“But Bean, did you know that God doesn’t really get wet?”
“He doesn’t?”
“Nope, because he doesn’t have a body like you and me.”
“He doesn’t? Then what is his body like?”
“Umm, well, (pondering how to explain to a 3 year old) God is a Spirit.”
(Let’s just try that one on for size and see how it goes over.)
“Oh.” (Like I thought, a ton of bricks.)

Just like Joe said once, the way to get a pre-schooler to stop asking questions is to give a really confusing answer. Great parenting, huh?
