School search begins
Well this week has been the beginning of our search for a school for VA for next year. Ugh. We’ve been putting it off for months–just really didn’t want to deal with it because we knew that it would be a difficult decision. Let’s just say that we tend to put off making big decisions until the very last minute. It’s something about the first child, perfectionistic tendencies that we have–trying to make sure we make the very, absolute, no-room-for-error, best decision, which is not always a bad thing, but it tends to make the decision-making process VERY slow, as people who know us well can well understand.
Anyway, we visited James River Day School on Tuesday, New Covenant on Wednesday, and Linkhorne Elementary today. It was kind of nice to see them all close together, but we are no closer to making a decision, that’s for sure.
After visiting, James River and New Covenant are both options, and I’m pretty sure Linkhorne is out. It was scary, and I can’t imagine sending my children there, which is odd because I’ve always been a fan of public schools, or at least the ones here. So we’re thinking of visiting Bedford Hills and Paul Monroe to see if they’re any better. We’ll see what happens.
